Arlington singer Maren Morris wows, then wins at CMA Awards

Maren Morris had pretty much the entire auditorium at the CMA Awards in Nashville singing her song "My Church." Yeah, a twentysomething Arlington singer who's way less famous than, say, hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley and other country music royalty like Alan Jackson, Reba McEntire and Loretta Lynn had them singing along to her song. And she was performing it with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.

What a way for her to feel like she's arrived, right?

Moments later, Morris was declared New Artist of the Year.

Or with:

"Y'all!" she said. (Adorable.) "This is crazy. This is so crazy." Last year, she sat across the street and watched the CMA Awards at a bar, she told the crowd.

This year, she's performing at it and winning one of the most important awards of the show. Last year's New Artist of the Year winner, Chris Stapleton, is now a country megastar. He won Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2016 CMAs.
