NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (AP) — The Grammy-winning Tejano musician known to his fans simply as Emilio has died. He was 53.

The singer performed several times with the late Selena before her 1995 death, and later continued to reach new heights of fame in Tejano. His crossover country record were well-received, including the Billboard-charting 1995 single "It's Not the End of the World."
