Blink-182 drops first single in five years: 'Bored to Death'

Believe it or not, it's been at least 17 years since you first heard "All the Small Things" on the radio. Time sure does fly, huh?

Today, legacy pop-punk trio Blink-182 released its first single in just over five years, "Bored to Death." It's the first we've heard of the band since co-frontman Tom DeLonge's departure in 2015 and the first bit of music since 2012's Dogs Eating Dogs EP.

The band's current lineup consists of founder, vocalist and guitarist Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker and Matt Skiba, who hopped on over from Alkaline Trio to round out the group.

And, well, "Bored to Death" isn't so bad. It's nice to hear Hoppus take full frontman status and let go a bit, but all the while still sounding like the Blink we know and love. The main riff on the track is reminiscent of older hits like "Adam's Song" and "Stay Together For The Kids." It's a nice introduction to the band while still giving older fans something to listen to.  This is the first single off of the band's latest album, California, which releases July 1.

Despite what people may think, Tom DeLonge claims he's "still in the band," according to a recent interview with Rolling Stone. One thing is for certain: He's not on this song, and Blink sounds OK without him. Listen below.
