Justin Bieber taps Dallas' Post Malone for world tour

This week's already a big one for Dallas hip-hop star Post Malone. Not only does he return home tonight to perform at House of Blues on Fetty Wap's sold-out tour, but he's also lined up his next blockbuster outing.

It was announced last night that the artist — otherwise known as 20-year-old Austin Post — will join reigning pop prince Justin Bieber on the  North American leg of the Purpose World Tour. Justin, Post and additional opening act Moxie Raia will all be at American Airlines Center April 10 for the previously announced Dallas stop of the trek.

What does that mean for Post Malone? Well, if the cosigns from famous rappers and feature on Kanye West's latest gave him traction in hip-hop, warming up for Bieber will expand his audience to an all-ages, pure-pop crowd. He's already making headway there, just on the strength and infectiousness of his hooks. Still, this is a major move for the young singer and rapper.
