Dallas concert may have been one of AC/DC singer's last with the band

Troubling news for the legendary rock band AC/DC and its lead singer Brian Johnson, who recently played American Airlines Center: Johnson has been told by doctors that he is to "stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss."

Ten remaining tour dates on AC/DC's trek will be rescheduled, including stops in Atlanta, Detroit, Cleveland and New York City. The band will reportedly feature a guest vocalist at the to-be-announced rescheduled shows later this year.

What the news means for Johnson's long-term involvement with the band, we can't say. But unless his hearing loss can be prevented or addressed in some other way, chances of the singer going back on tour any time soon seem slim.

That means Dallas' Feb. 23 show could stand as one of AC/DC's last to feature Johnson, who joined after original frontman Bon Scott passed away in 1980. Johnson led the band to unprecedented commercial success with hits like "Back in Black" and "You Shook Me All Night Long."

Reviewer Thor Christensen wrote about AC/DC's recent Dallas appearance, citing a less-than-stellar vocal performance throughout the show. The  same issues that ultimately sidelined Johnson could have contributed to the Dallas performance.
