Bruce Springsteen will bring The River Tour to Dallas' American Airlines Center on April 5

For now, at least, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are hitting but a single Texas stop on The River Tour -- and it's Dallas, because why else would we be posting this?

After weeks of rumors, it was confirmed this morning: Springsteen and the band will play the American Airlines Center on April 5. Tickets, ranging from around $70 to $155, go on sale right here Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

For those keeping score, the AAC shows falls exactly two years and one day since Springsteen and the E Street Band last played Dallas -- the freebie gig beneath cold, misty skies on the muddy patch of what used to be Reunion Arena. Maybe it was the setting, maybe it was the crowd, maybe it was the set list (which opened with a cover of Van Halen's "Jump," specially prepared for the NCAA crowd) or Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello subbing for Steven Van Zandt on a TV timeout or the fact the bossman seemed in a particularly giddy mood that night. Or maybe it was all of it -- but it ranks high on the list of Best Springsteen Dallas Shows Ever. Then, I never saw the March '74 shows at Gertie's, when Springsteen played to 75 people, give or take. Those weren't the days.

Before ducats go up for grabs you can grab a sneak at the shows on the tour thus far; they're downloadable  at a low, low price (and Chicago was made available gratis following the weekend snowout) almost immediately afterward, if you can't make the AAC gig. Long story short: They play the entirety of The River, along with the hits.  So, yeah -- maybe you're not the biggest "Jackson Cage" fan, or maybe "Sherry Darling" isn't on regular rotation. But hang tight, because you'll still get "Thunder Road."

So, until April 5, let's relive that Reunion reunion.
