Singer Florence Welch need do little except walk on stage to enrapture an audience, but fans know the moment she unleashes that powerhouse of a voice, there's next to nothing that can distract from the spectacle.
Welch's Grammy-nominated project, Florence and the Machine, will be bringing the magic to Dallas on a run North American tour dates in support the band's most recent album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. The tour stops at American Airlines Center on May 18. Indie electro-pop eccentric Grimes will open the show.

Despite landing a headlining spot at Austin City Limits music festival in 2015, Florence and the Machine hasn't played Dallas since 2012. The band drew 7,000 people to Gexa Energy Pavilion for a performance then Dallas Morning News music critic Mario Tarradall described as full of boundless energy.
Florence and the Machine is up for five Grammys this year, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance ("Ship To Wreck"), Best Pop Vocal Album (How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful), Best Rock Performance ("What Kind of Man"), Best Rock Song ("What Kind of Man"), and Best Recording Package (How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful deluxe).
