14 of Taylor Swift's best moments

The biggest pop star in America is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend. Taylor Swift's concert on Saturday, Oct. 17 is easily one of the most noteworthy concerts of the season, if not the year, in North Texas.

So before you sing along to her songs of breakups and boyfriends, take a look at how far she's come in eight years under the spotlight.

That time you first heard her name

Back in 2007, Swift was a country singer riding the wave of one of her first huge hits, "Our Song." She'd recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee, but was far from a big star at this point. The same year, she opened for Brad Paisley and Kellie Pickler in Dallas.

That time -- the first time -- she was nominated for a Grammy

Here's how Swift looked when she learned she was up for Best New Artist at the Grammy nominations in late 2007. She didn't win.

That time she was on 'CSI'

So maybe it wasn't the hugest moment in Swift's career. But in 2009, she was on CSI, doing a surprisingly good job, says Rolling Stone, playing a teenager who was later murdered.

That time when Kanye West did not let her finish

As Swift accepted her award for Best Female Video for "You Belong With Me" at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West pulled the microphone away from her to tell the crowd he believed Beyonce's "Single Ladies" should have won.

Swift sweetly recounted the experience: "I was standing onstage, and I was really excited because I'd just won the award, and then I was really excited because Kanye West was onstage," she told People. "And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."

That time Swift won so many Grammys she couldn't hold them all

By 2010, Swift was a major star.

That time President George H. W. Bush came to a Taylor Swift video premiere

During Swift's premiere of her new video, "Mine," in Kennebunkport, Maine, former U.S. President George H.W. Bush attended the event with his grandkids. Cute.

Those times Swift kept winning huge awards

She's been entertainer of the year, artist of the year and female vocalist of the year, some several times over. She continues to maintain that pinch-me attitude.

That time when Swift's song was replaced by a goat scream

Seriously, the Internet is the best place ever.

That time Swift was a Victoria's Secret model

Maybe she really has done everything.

That time Swift pulled her music from Spotify

She's plenty famous without Spotify's help. "Music is art, and art is important and rare," she explained. She just shook it off, I guess you could say, and kept making music.

That time Madonna complimented Taylor Swift

"It's good to have princesses [of pop]. It means there's lots of pretty dresses around. I like Taylor Swift. I think she writes some really catchy pop songs. I can't get them out of my head." So said Madonna in early 2015.

Swift's surprised response, posted to Tumblr: "Thanks now I'm dead. #HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DEAL WITH THIS #BE COOL TAYLOR STOP BEING EMBARRASSING"

That time she received an award at the American Country Music Awards -- even though she isn't a country artist anymore

In a very heartfelt moment at the ACM Awards -- hosted at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, it's worth noting -- Swift's mom presented her with the Milestone Award.

Swift said: "To the country music community, when I told you that I had made a pop album and that I wanted to go explore other genres, you showed me who you are with the grace that you accepted that with. I will never forget it."

That time she sang 'Smelly Cat' with Lisa Kudrow

Swift is famous for bring famous faces onstage at her concerts. In fact, we're wondering: Who will it be her famous guest(s) at the upcoming AT&T show?

That time she was nice enough to hug Kanye West

She even presented him with an award -- the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. It was the ultimate nice thing to do to the man who contributed to what is likely one of her most embarrassing public moments.
