6 North Texas theaters to stream Grateful Dead's last concert this summer

The Grateful Dead is bringing its 50-year run to a monumental close this summer with a three-night stint at Chicago's Soldier Field. And since the granddaddy of jam bands taking its final bow is one of the biggest moments in music history, the Fare Thee Well shows will be broadcast in movie theaters across the country, including six in North Texas.

The theaters listed below are selling tickets for each of the three nights (July 3-5), but prices range between venues, from about $14 to $18 per showing. Hey, it beats paying $155,000 and you'll have a good view.

Phish's Trey Anastasio and esteemed keyboardists Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti join original members Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreuzmann for the sendoff, as well as a two-night appearance in Santa Clara, California.
