George Strait, Garth Brooks among performers set to play ACM Awards in Arlington

We found out last week who's playing the Big Event before the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards at AT&T Stadium next month. Now we know who's playing the actual awards show, which takes place April 19. And even if you don't know country music, or what passes for country these days, you know most of the names.

Let's see ...

George Strait. Garth Brooks. Blake Shelton. Miranda Lambert. Keith Urban. Luke Bryan. Reba McEntire. Jason Aldean. Luke Bryan. Kenny Chesney. Eric Church. And ... Florida Georgia Line, for the bathroom-breakers.

Shelton and Bryan, of course, are co-hosting - the Lewis and Martin of country music.

More performers will be announced in coming days, as Dallas-Fort Worth prepares to become the epicenter of the country biz next month - and Arlington in particular, where the Party for a Cause Festival is scheduled April 17 and 18 at Texas Rangers' Globe Life Park. It too will have a bold-faced line-up that includes a few of the folks scheduled to play Jerryworld, along with Dwight Yoakam, Clint Black, Patty Loveless, Ronnie Milsap and Darius Rucker.

Here's your list of nominees. As always, I root for Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and George Jones. Good luck, y'all.
