Arlington-rooted vocal group Pentatonix takes home first Grammy

The breakout vocal group Pentatonix, which features key members from Arlington, won the 2015 Grammy for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella. The award was announced Sunday during the Grammys' pre-telecast Premiere Ceremony.

Martin grad Scott Hoying spoke for the group on stage when he accepted the award for the vocal medley "Daft Punk":

"We recorded this in a bedroom closet, filmed it in a kitchen, and now we're Grammy winners."
