Teachers, relax: Get free admission during Alamo Drafthouse appreciation week

Teachers have probably been waiting for some time off for as long as the students have, maybe even longer. And spring break brings with it precious rest.

Alamo Drafthouse D-FW aims to make the time off even more beneficial for movie-loving teachers with the return of "Teacher Appreciation Week," starting on Friday, March 9.

Through Sunday, March 18, "all teachers, professors, faculty and school staff" will be able to catch almost any show for free at the locations in the Cedars and in Richardson. The offer even extends to those parents who are home-schooling their children. Teachers must present current identification from their job; those who are teaching in the home should bring their documents.

The only excluded movie times are "events with value added," according to drafthouse.com.

And, as tempting as it may be to spend all day at the movies, teachers are only allowed "one free ticket per transaction, per day." And you can't send that out-of-school neighbor kid to pick up the ticket, either. Teachers have to go to their favorite location's box office to take advantage of the offer.

Here's that chance to watch as many Oscar nominees as possible, for free. Or nap, whichever comes first.
