Netflix is rebooting Benji, the classic film series about a stray dog and the kids that want to adopt him (against their parent's wishes). The new movie launches on the streaming service March 16, and they released the first trailer on Monday.

Did you know, however, that parts of the original 1974 movie was filmed here in the D-FW area?

The Dowell House in McKinney, which is now a bed and breakfast, can be seen as a "haunted" house in disrepair at the very beginning of Benji. It also serves as a hideout for kidnappers (spoilers, I guess?).

The house where Paul and Cindy, the children stars of the film, live can be seen as you drive by Louisiana Street (or by checking it out on Google Maps). Their father's office can be seen down the road.

You can also catch a cameo from Denton's City Hall, which shows up in the movie as a police station. A 2014 Blogspot post from a user named Todd Erwin has some then-and-now photos.

Unfortunately, Netflix's new movie wasn't shot on Louisiana Street again -- it was filmed in the actual state of Louisiana
