Angelika locations will celebrate leading ladies and the '80s in 2018

Count on the Angelika Film Center to have your viewing schedule mapped out already for 2018.

The art house will present film series "Leading Ladies" in Plano and "80s Rewind" in Dallas.

The Plano location, in the Shops at Legacy (7205 Bishop Road), will screen classic films from the 1930's through the 1970's on the second Monday of each month. "Leading Ladies" kicks off Jan. 8 with Katherine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story (1940, 112 mins.). It will end Dec. 10 with Maureen O'Hara in Miracle on 34th Street (1947, 96 mins.).

Other films -- all original flavor -- include: The Women; CabaretCat on a Hot Tin Roof; All About Eve; King Kong; Singin' in the RainCarrieSabrina; High Society; and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

The Dallas location at Mockingbird Station (5321 E. Mockingbird Lane) will begin "80s Rewind" on Monday, Jan. 8, with a screening of The Breakfast Club (1985, R, 97 mins.). After that, the series will screen films on the first Monday of each month starting Feb. 5 with Say Anything (1989, PG-13, 100 mins.) and ending Dec. 3 with A Christmas Story (1983, PG, 94 mins.).

Other scheduled films include: Labyrinth; Say Anything; Raiders of the Lost Ark; The Princess Bride; Aliens; Ferris Bueller's Day Off; Top Gun; Pretty in Pink; Poltergeist; and Back to the Future.

All screenings will be at 7 p.m. with reserved seating.

Tickets cost $10.50 each for the Plano series and $12 each for the Dallas series. The tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.
