Tap into what makes 'Psycho' so scary at Chris Vognar's Screening Room series Wednesday

Chris Vognar's Screening Room, presented by The Dallas Morning News and Dallas VideoFest, will screen the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock classic, Psycho, at 7 p.m. at the Angelika Dallas, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane.

Starting tonight at the Angelika Dallas, you can begin to see exactly what movies really scared DMN culture critic Chris Vognar in his formative years.

Chris Vognar's Screening Room, presented by The Dallas Morning News and Dallas VideoFest, will screen the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock classic, Psycho, at 7 p.m. at the Angelika Dallas, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane.

"As with all of these series -- so far I've done '70s Hollywood, film noir, comedy, international classics, sci-fi and Westerns -- the selections are very subjective," Vognar wrote last month.

Chris Vognar's Screening Room will also take a look at What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (Sept. 20), Rosemary's Baby (Oct. 4), The Exorcist (Oct. 18), Don't Look Now (Nov. 15) and The Silence of the Lambs ( Jan. 17). Vognar is still working on booking Dec. 20.
