Favorite book, meet a favorite director.

Deadline reports that Disney has tapped Ava Duvernay to direct its adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time. The much-loved book by Madeleine L'Engle won the 1963 Newbery Award.

This book cemented my fandom for science fiction with its strong female roles and otherwordly plot. Duvernay cemented my fandom for her films with her historic (#BlackGirlMagic) win at Sundance in 2012 for Middle of Nowhere, made for a couple hundred thousand dollars, and the soaring, award-winning Selma.

Frozen writer and co-director Jennifer Lee wrote the script for A Wrinkle in Time
