Warner Bros. is making a new Tarzan movie helmed by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows director David Yates. I didn't think a re-telling of the Tarzan story was something Hollywood was lacking, so the movie's existence didn't make a ton of sense to me.
(I might also be a bit biased. When it comes to Edgar Rice Burroughs stories I'd rather revisit John Carter of Mars.)
Then a bunch of people (mostly women) both on and off the Internet made The Legend of Tarzan's purpose more clear with one simple statement: Alexander Skarsgård's abs.
They're not really my thing (I'll be more interested in seeing Margot Robbie as Jane), but apparently the abs have power.

So the new Tarzan almost feels like nature's answer to realizing that I'm too old to find George of the Jungle attractive.

Of course, there's also the question of whether or not Warner Bros. is taking the king of the jungle's sex appeal a little too far.

Anyway, the film hits theaters July, 2016. You can see the trailer for yourself below. It also has Samuel L. Jackson and gorillas and trees and stuff.
