Dallas, not surprisingly, loves itself some John Wayne. For the second straight year the John Wayne Film Festival will touch down in our fair burg, Thursday through Sunday at Highland Park Village Theatre and Look Cinemas.

The menu includes Duke movies famous (Red River, The Searchers) and less so (The Sea Chase, The Cowboys). The event benefits the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, and will include appearances by Wayne family members.
I'll be introducing the screening of The Cowboys 9:15 p.m. Thursday at Highland Park Village.
