Your time and money are valuable, so you should invest them in good movies. Here are some films in theaters this week that have been approved by our in-house critics and/or reviewers from elsewhere on the internet.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Like Han Solo himself, Solo is rough around the edges. Under the grime, though, is a fun romp through space that's more lighthearted than you might expect from Star Wars. Read my full review.

Deadpool 2

Its story lacks substance, but this raunchy superhero sequel has all the laughts and over-the-top action that fans of the original will want. Read my full review.

Book Club

The star-studded cast of Book Club (Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen) is the key to keeping it afloat. The Associated Press says, "Book Club has a script that's often so heavy on the corn... But then, darn it, suddenly it makes you tearful, with an unexpectedly genuine moment, or laugh out loud."

Disobedience

Rolling Stone says, "Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams brilliantly enact this tale of forbidden same-sex attraction in London's Orthodox Jewish community. No one who follows the groundbreaking trail that the movie blazes is going to shut up about it."

Tully

The Los Angeles Times says, "It's one of the more viscerally accurate portraits of parenthood, and specifically motherhood, that the movies have recently given us."
