One of Vimeo's "Staff Picks" highlighted on its front page today is The Leviathan, a cool teaser/short film from director Ruairí Robinson and writer Jim Uhls.
The plot of the short film helps give it a real "Moby Dick in space" vibe. In the future, humans are able to travel the stars by harvesting matter from the eggs of giant whale-like creatures. As you can imagine, that's not always the safest of jobs.
The hope is that this teaser will help drum up excitement for the concept of a full-length movie based on this world. Personally, I'd be interested in seeing it.
