This granddaddy of Texas attractions celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011. Spring and fall are the best times of year to go — not too crowded, not too hot. Guests will find thrill, family and kids’ rides, from “pulse-pounding roller coasters to gentler options for tots”; entertainment; shopping; and more. You’ll find 13 (!) roller coasters — 11 steel, one super-hybrid and one wooden. Titan and Superman: Tower of Power are among the most popular rides for thrill-seekers, with Titan towering over the park at 255 feet tall. Also check out the Texas SkyScreamer, a 400-foot tower that spins, offering the thrill of “flying” as you see a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding area.

Six Flags Over Texas features more than 100 thrilling rides and attractions, including adrenaline filled roller coasters like the award-winning New Texas Giant, Titan and MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast. It also has a variety of family-friendly shows and attractions, plus fun-filled themed areas like Looney Tunes USA for the kids. Information from the park's website
