Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a hidden gem in West Plano, just a few blocks west of the intersection of Parker and Midway roads. It's an increasingly alluring destination for bikers, walkers and runners, who have three different trails to explore, of 1.3, one and .4 miles. Don't be surprised if you encounter frogs, snakes or even tarantulas along the way. Families love it, so much so that new parking just opened up.

Located on the western border of Plano, Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a 200-acre park featuring vast areas of natural beauty for walking, jogging, hiking, orienteering, and other outdoor activity. Amenities include a playground, restrooms, observation tower, a reservable pavilion, and miles of concrete, natural, and off-road biking trails. Information from the park's website
