Get treated to free pumpkins in North Texas every weekend this October

The "Helpful Honda People" have given us giant eggs to hunt on Easter, free ice cream on #NationalIceCreamDay and free barbecue on Memorial Day. Now, they're gearing up for their first "Helpful Hondaween."

The Helpful Honda People, representing North Texas Honda Dealers, are showing up at pumpkin patches all over North Texas this month to surprise people with free pumpkins. It all started Oct. 7 at Blase Family Farm (1232 E. Fork Drive) in Rockwall.

The fun continues this weekend through Oct. 27.

Saturday, Oct. 13: From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Grand Prairie at The Woods United Church (1350 W. Bardin Road) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and in McKinney at Storybook Ranch, 3701 Custer Road.

Not only will the Helpful Honda People be popping up at pumpkin patches, but they'll carry your haul, too. At some events, they'll hand out "glow-in-the-dark pumpkin pails."

So, if you see the blue shirts, get what's coming to you this Halloween. The North Texas Honda Dealers group has been doing " random acts of helpfulness" since last year, including free gas, groceries and ice cream, donating and volunteering and giving gift cards via Twitter.
