The world of Dragon Ball , which spans several series (including Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super) across a variety of mediums (TV, manga and video games included) is a huge worldwide hit. But it has a special tie to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, because the English voice work comes to us courtesy of Flower Mound-based company Funimation.

(Yes, the series also had a, let's say, unsuccessful live-action attempt, pictured above.)

'Dragon Ball Z' composer is hoping for over 9000 votes in his race for Texas Senate

So it's significant that there's also a local Dragon Ball convention, Kameha Con, taking place May 4-6 at the Irving Convention Center.

On the guest list are a ton of actors whose voices fans will recognize, including Eric Vale (Young Trunks), Chris Ayres (Frieza), Sean Schemmel (Goku) and Chris Sabat (Vegeta and Piccolo).

Tickets are no longer available online, but they're sold at the door for prices ranging from $15 (or possibly a bit higher -- the convention hasn't responded to me with specifics) to $70, depending on what you're there for. Premium and VIP passes are sold out.

More information can be found on the Kameha Con website.
