LeakyCon, a Harry Potter fan convention connected to the long-running fansite The Leaky Cauldron, is coming to Dallas. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Aug. 10-12, 2018.

Harry Potter fans need fellow Potterheads. After all, "If I were You-Know-Who, I'd want you to feel cut off from everyone else. Because if it's just you alone, you're not as much of a threat."

LeakyCon

LeakyCon events have been held in various cities across the world, including in Dublin, Ireland, earlier this year. It's a big gathering of fans that features panels and celebrations of  the Wizarding World at large.

No special guests for the Dallas stop have been named yet, but previous LeakyCons have hosted big names associated with the Harry Potter movies, including Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Dan Folger (Jacob Kowalski, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) and Katie Leung (Cho Chang). Even celebrities only tangentially related to the series and its fandom, like John and Hank Green, have made trips to the con.

Tickets will go on sale Nov. 15, starting at $59 for a single-day pass and going up to $349 for a "Marauder Pass," which includes celebrity autograph and photograph sessions and exclusive merchandise.

Next year will be a good one for Harry Potter fans in Texas. The U.S. Quidditch Cup is also coming to the state.
