Stormtroopers aren't good enough for the Fort Worth Police Department, according to their recruitment video

When Obi-Wan Kenobi says, "And these blast points, too accurate for Sandpeople. Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise" in the original Star Wars, it's probably the biggest lie in the entire series. Fans know that the white-clad soldiers are notoriously bad shots,  incapable of hitting their targets without firing at least 50 shots.

So it's no surprise that the Fort Worth Police Department would look at a Stormtrooper applicant and say, "We can probably do better."

The department is hiring, according to a Facebook post published today. And to get your attention, they're pulling out all the special effects stops with a Star Wars parody that's here just in time for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Some people on that staff must be big fans of the series, because not only did they nail the tone with this video, but they're continuing to have fun with Star Wars references in the Facebook comments.

They're accepting applications for their police academy until Dec. 12, with exam dates falling on Jan. 10-11, 2017. "Good luck and may the force be with you," they say.
