Sororities across the country are turning to YouTube to recruit new members. There are a lot of awesome recruitment videos out there, so we decided to rank the top 10 in the country.
Ranking sorority recruitment videos is an inherently subjective exercise. However that didn't stop us from creating some grading criteria. We watched dozens of videos and ranked them in the following six areas:
- Originality and production value
- Music choice
- Number of coordinated outfits
- Use of drones
- Do the sorority sisters speak?
- Quality of props
Several Texas schools made our top 10 list, but Florida State University definitely has a monopoly on this video genre. Hopefully Texas does better next year.
Here are the top 10 sorority recruitment videos in the country:
10. Delta Gamma - University of Miami
Notable features: The yacht, of course.
Notes: The Miami Deltas did a great job, but lost points for failing to coordinate their outfits. But who has time to match when you're booking a yacht?
9. (tie) Alpha Chi Omega - UT Austin
Highlights: This sorority knows how to party.
Notes: Looks like their video shoot almost got rained out.
9. (tie) Zeta Tau Alpha - UT Austin
Highlights: Mansion pool parties, puppies, and graffiti.
Notes: Who's mansion is that? Also, we love the pool floaties.
8. Chi Omega - Florida State University
Highlights: Sky diving and Machu Picchu!
Notes: We wonder how many frequent flyer miles were racked up during filming.
7. (tie) Zeta Tau Alpha - Georgia Southern University
Highlights: A very impressive sorority house.
Notes: This sorority snagged a lot of points for their coordinated outfits.
7. (tie) Alpha Phi - Arizona State University
Highlights: Hot air balloons and helicopters!
Notes: These women need to buckle-up in the Jeep.
6. Zeta Tau Alpha - Texas A&M University
Highlights: There's a paint fight, pillow fight, bike tricks, and a palatial sorority house.
Notes: The Zetas have some pretty mean dance moves.
5. Pi Beta Phi - University of Alabama
Highlights: The recruitment stories are awesome.
Notes: Pi Beta Phi picked up points for actually having the sorority members speak.
4. Chi Omega - UNC Charlotte
Highlights: Sparklers!
Notes: What's that being censored?
3. Delta Gamma - Southern Methodist University
Highlights: American flag tights and gorgeous shots of campus.
Notes: SMU picked up points for the number of coordinated outfits and spoken testimonials from the members.
2. Alpha Phi - Florida State University
Highlights: Amazing production quality and a Scooby Doo van!
Notes: They love Universal Studios.
1. Zeta Tau Alpha - Florida State University
Highlights: Lots of dancing, clapping and flipping.
Notes: Although this is not the flashiest video on the list, this sorority scored points for production quality, outfit coordination, and spoken testimonials.
