Cedar Hill Police take McConaughey-inspired joyride in Lincoln commercial spoof

Sometimes you gotta go back to actually move forward.

That's the advice from Lincoln's famous marketing campaign featuring a contemplative Matthew McConaughey - and a clever parody recently produced by the Cedar Hill Police Department that's accumulated near 9,000 views on YouTube. [UPDATE on March 4 at 4:58 p.m.: The video now has more than 90,000 views. Alright, alright.]

In the spoof, which was reportedly created for the Cedar Hill Police awards banquet, Sgt. Larry Wise contemplates the important questions in life: What is this on my fingers and why won't it come off? Is it mystery pocket goo from that last guy I searched?

Sgt. Wise told CBS the video helps humanize the police, saying, "We laugh at the same things, we enjoy the same things, and no we're not just robots programmed to ticket and arrest." Who knew?!
