The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said on Saturday, June 2 anyone can fish in a public body of water without a license. 

The department said there will be no fees for those fishing across the state but bag and size limits still are in force.  You can download an app to find the latest fishing regulations.

Growing up, I always loved fishing with my dad in Southeast Texas. It was our way to bond as father and daughter. But these days as an adult, I haven't kept up with the hobby. I've yet to get a license in recent years.
