The Adolphus hotel in Dallas is opening its pool to the public

Texas summer can be a bummer, especially if you don't readily have access to a pool. Adults looking for an oasis in the middle of Dallas' concrete jungle now have a new place to cool down: the Adolphus.

As part of the historic downtown hotel's multimillion-dollar makeover, it built a brand-new pool in 2016 that's 4 feet deep and flanked by a limestone waterfall. But until this summer, it was only available to hotel guests.

Starting June 1, the outdoor pool, which is located on the seventh floor, will be open every Friday night for a series called Sundown on Seven. From 8 p.m. to midnight, locals will be able to take dip and sip on libations to the tune of DJ Souljah.
