Riding an ostrich: It's just as awkward as it sounds.
At events at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie on Saturday and Sunday, jockeys rode non-traditional racing animals such as ostriches, zebras and camels.
Keep an eye out for the camels, who clip-clop along, as if to say, "Why are we doing this?"
The races were run on the thoroughbred track between horse races. Plenty of kids lined up to see these out-of-the-ordinary events. Take a look through photos of each one:
