Alamo Drafthouse sets a date with Las Colinas: May 1

Remember when it was harder to find an Alamo Drafthouse near you? Those days are quickly vanishing. If you're in Irving, the acclaimed movie theater chain will be opening its doors to you on May 1. If you're willing to put up with a few bumps in the road, you can go a bit earlier (and for a bit cheaper) on discounted staff training days beginning April 17.

Alamo Drafthouse Las Colinas is part of the Toyota Music Factory entertainment complex, so you'll have plenty of food and entertainment options nearby. A press release also says that you will have a view of the Factory's performances stages from your seat at the Alamo Drafthouse's own bar, Vetted Well.

The Las Colinas location is themed around John Carpenter movies (such as Halloween and The Thing) as a play on the nearby John W. Carpenter Freeway, which is named after, uh, a very different John Carpenter
