If you see a much-larger-than-usual bright blue egg nestled in the grass, don't turn into a chicken and run.
North Texas Honda Dealers are dropping 150 "Random Eggs of Helpfulness" across North Texas for your finding pleasure from Saturday, March 24, through Easter Sunday, April 1. There are prizes inside, including gift cards, tickets to sporting events and local attractions; and even memberships to Six Flags Over Texas.
The eggs could be anywhere, thus the random tag, and that includes public spaces such as parks, college campuses and shopping centers in more than a dozen area cities. But your chances increase if you go to any one of the listed events or locations.
There are rules.
If you're lucky enough to find an egg first, open it. Then you must take a picture with the egg and post it to the Facebook wall of the North Texas Honda Dealers page to actually get the "gift of helpfulness," according to a release.
On Saturday, the big blue eggs will be in Rockwall; the Annual Egg Hunt at Kiest Park in Dallas (10 a.m. to noon); Eggcellent Family Adventure at Allen Civic Plaza (9 to noon); Easter Egg Splash at Apex Center in McKinney (9 to 11:45); Aqua Egg Hunt at Burleson Recreation Center (10-noon) and Bunny Daze Egg Hunt at Russell Farm Art Center (1:30 p.m.) in Burleson; and Frisco Square (noon-1 p.m.).
Sunday, March 25: Arlington, Lewisville and Carrollton
Friday, March 30: North Richland Hills, and Irving
Saturday, March 31: Denton; Stockyards Station Texas-Sized Easter Egg Hunt (noon to 4 p.m.) in Fort Worth; Texas Pool Egg Hunt (10 a.m.-noon) in Plano; and City of Paris Recreation Egg Hunt at Wade Park (2-3 p.m.).
Sunday, April 1: Dallas metro; Duncanville; and Goat Yoga Egg Hunt from 10-11 a.m. in Richardson
You can spot the "Helpful Honda People" hiding the eggs because they'll be the ones in the blue polo shirts struggling to semi-hide the big, brightly hued (read: extra) baubles. The North Texas Honda Dealers group has been waging a campaign of kindness --" random acts of helpfulness" -- since last year, including free gas for some lucky drivers, picking up grocery tabs, donating and volunteering and giving gift cards via Twitter.
