If you're James Bond, you like cocktails shaken, not stirred. But why settle for one way when you could have both?

Shaken + Stirred is a cocktail sampling event and competition coming to the Statler Hotel in downtown Dallas on Dec. 2. This soiree traditionally happens in the spring as part of the Savor Dallas food and wine festival, but it returns this winter with a new twist. (CrowdSource, a subsidiary of The Dallas Morning News, produces the event.)

Seven local bartenders have each designed a unique libation in hopes of impressing a panel of judges. The winning drink will be crowned the Official Cocktail of Big D for 2018 and served at the bartender's place of work as well as next year's Savor Dallas festival. The competition is presented by VisitDallas, a nonprofit that promotes its namesake city as a tourist destination, and the Dallas Convention and Visitor's Bureau -- so you know the designation is official.

The competing drinks were chosen from a pool of applicants, which judges narrowed down through a blind taste-test. Bartenders shaking and stirring at the event are:

Shaken + Stirred attendees also get to vote for their favorite cocktail of the evening.

In addition to libations, there will be bites from chefs Graham Dodd and Angela Hernandez, both of whom are leading the culinary charge at new restaurants opening at the Statler. Dodd is chef at Overeasy, a trendy diner, and Scout, a sports bar. Hernandez is chef at Fine China, a Pan-Asian restaurant. Overeasy is currently open; the others are still under construction.

Local musician Hunter Sullivan and Big Time Big Band will perform during the event.

Tickets to Shaken + Stirred, which include bottomless food and drinks, cost $75 and are currently on sale via SavorDallas.com. The event runs 7 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Statler Hotel, 1914 Commerce St. in Dallas.
