Need weekend plans? We have you covered!

Are you ready for some football?

Dallas Cowboys Rally Day

This weekend marks the opening day of the Dallas Cowboys' regular football season, and to celebrate the team is hosting Rally Day, a daylong party Saturday at AT&T Stadium. Consider this like a ticketed open house. For $35, fans get to take a self-guided tour the stadium, mingle with Cowboys alumni and cheerleaders, and partake in activities on the field for kids and adults. Of course, team mascot Rowdy will also be there.

If you're planning to go to the game on Sunday versus the New York Giants, you'll have to get resale tickets through Ticketmaster and they can be pricey. But if you're just looking for a fun environment to watch the game, head to Granada Theater, which has a big projection screen and food and drink specials. Entry is free, but you'll want to get there early for a good spot.

Ready, set, RoboCop

RoboCop with Peter Weller LIVE from OCP Headquarters

If you're not into sports — let's face it, not everyone gets football fever this time of year — actor Peter Weller will be in Dallas on Sunday for a screening of the original RoboCop. Fans can join him at Dallas City Hall, otherwise known as OCP Headquarters, for the screening, which is followed by a Q&A. Tickets cost $50 and the event starts at 7:30 p.m.

Bring the kids to a fiesta

If you're looking for something free to do, bring the whole family down to DeSoto for the Latino Heritage Festival. On Saturday, families are invited to bring lawn chairs to the Amphitheater at the DeSoto Civic Center for an evening of Latin food, music, artisan goods and more. The festival runs 6 to 10 p.m., and again, is free to attend.

Rock on!

ZZ Top

North Texas' nightlife scene welcomes a new venue this weekend. The legendary ZZ Top is performing opening night at the new Irving Music Factory. The venue's original opening date last weekend was postponed due to construction delays. ZZ Top takes the stage on Saturday night with support from Alejandro Escovedo. Tickets start at $39.50.

And if you're already missing Game of Thrones after that epic finale two weeks ago, one of the actors from the series is in Dallas this weekend. Kristian Nairn, who played Hodor, is also an acclaimed DJ. He'll be performing the Rave of Thrones at Lizard Lounge on Saturday night. And you can expect there may be some cosplay and other themed surprises in the works. Tickets start at $25.

Tiney Ricciardi offers her weekend event picks every Thursday morning at 7:40 a.m. on 570AM KLIF.
