Fireworks will be happening all over Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend to celebrate the Fourth of July, but if there's one show you don't want to miss, it's Addison Kaboom Town.

USA Today has ranked the Addison celebration among the top in the nation not only for its 30-minute fireworks display, but also because there's a big party that accompanies the action. Gates to Addison Circle Park, where the event is held, open at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 3 and beginning at 5 p.m., there's music, food, games, and an airshow. Kaboom Town is free to attend, but you'll want to get there early to find a spot because it is hugely popular. There are also bars and restaurants nearby where you can take in the action.

Bring on the tunes

The best upcoming concerts focus on the old school greats. Willie Nelson and Family will be headlining the Outlaw Music Festival at Starplex Pavilion on Sunday. Other performers include Sheryl Crow and The Avett Brothers. So it will be hot, but the tunes will be worth it. Tickets range $29.50 up to several hundred dollars for the best seats.

On Monday, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd comes to American Airlines Center in Dallas. He's known for including a political slant in his performances so it should be interesting to see what he brings to Dallas. Tickets for that show start at $55.

Tiney Ricciardi offers her weekend event picks every Thursday morning at 7:40 a.m. on 570AM KLIF.
