Pooch Plunge Wet Zone water park closes out the summer with a swim party for dogs and families hosted by Friends of Rowlett Animals. There will be cool treats from Kona Ice and other concessions for sale, as well as vendors and raffles.

Puppy Pool Party The Lower Greenville sports bar hosts a patio pool party with dog toys, kiddie pools, pet supply vendors and free pet-friendly samples. Puppy parents can enjoy Haymaker drink specials while the doggies splash. A portion of sales that day will go to East Dallas Pet Rescue. Grab an adult snow cone at the outside bar for $3. Non-alcoholic cones are free.

Doggie Dive-In Besides taking a dip in the pool, pups can compete for canine prizes and treats in contests such as best tricks, best swimsuit, longest jump and fastest ball retrieval. Concessions will be available to purchase. The event is limited to 200 dogs, so preregistration is recommended. Preregister by 5 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Memorial Park Rec Center or Frederick P. Herring Rec Center. Walk-up registration will be available if space permits.
