Add another North Texas brewery to the list of 60-plus expected to open around the state this year. HopFusion Ale Works announced Tuesday it landed a lease at 220 E. Broadway St. in Fort Worth's Near Southside neighborhood.
The 8,500-square-foot space will include a 30-barrel brew house, taproom, and a raised outdoor patio. Owners Macy Moore and Matt Hill expect to open in late 2015 or early next year. The building, which was built in 1950, will also function as an art gallery that will feature local artists, according to Moore.
Moore, a former RadioShack employee of 22 years, and Hill, a mechanic, met through a homebrew club and have more than a decade of brewing experience between them. When it opens, HopFusion Ale Works will offer four beers: Feisty Blonde, a honey vanilla blonde ale; Hairpin, a session ale; Steampipe, a black rye India pale ale; and Fur Slipper, an imperial milk stout. One-off batches and seasonals will come shortly thereafter, Moore says.
HopFusion Ale Works will join operations such as Rahr & Sons Brewing Co., Martin House Brewing Co., Collective Brewing Project, Panther Island Brewing Co. and Bearded Eel Craft Brewery in the bustling Cowtown craft beer scene.
