Two new restaurants are now open in Collin County, close to Collin Creek Mall in Plano.

Flying Fish, a casual, fried seafood place, and Rodeo Goat Ice House, a burger joint, opened on Friday near Central Expressway and the President George Bush Turnpike in Plano. (More specifically: They're at W. Plano Parkway and Alma Drive.) The restaurants are part of the Heritage Creekside development.

Where did Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg eat on his trip to Dallas?

Flying Fish and Rodeo Goat are the first restaurants announced at Heritage Creekside. They come from restaurateur Shannon Wynne, who also operates healthy-minded Dallas place Mudhen and beer chain Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, among others. Wynne's craft beer den the Meddlesome Moth famously served Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg in 2017.

Wynne says he was drawn to the Plano development because of the ambience: "Not often do you come across a running creek in North Texas, but Rosewood presented us with an opportunity to have mature trees and a real creek in their new development and it just seemed like a burgers and fried catfish kind of place," he said.

Rodeo Goats already exist in Fort Worth and in Dallas' Design District. Flying Fishes are in Addison, Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth and Garland, with three additional restaurants out of state. Both a Rodeo Goat and Flying Fish, side by side, are expected to open at The Sound in Cypress Waters in early 2019.

The Heritage Creekside complex will eventually house apartments, retail and offices. The property has been owned by Dallas oil family the Hunts for more than 50 years, according to a statement from the developer.

Eventually, the restaurants will have patios. Despite the work-in-progress exterior, a spokeswoman assures that the restaurants are open.
