9 spots in D-FW land on list of 100 Best Restaurants for Wine Lovers

On a list of OpenTable's 100 Best Restaurants for Wine Lovers, nine are located in Texas. And, impressively, nine are also in Dallas-Fort Worth.

According to OpenTable's top diner reviews, Al Biernat's, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse and Sixty Vines are top wine restaurants in Dallas-Fort Worth. If you count all of the local locations of each of these restaurants, that totals nine restaurants in North Texas.

Al Biernat's on Oak Lawn Avenue in Dallas just underwent a facelift after being open 20 years. It's a notable place to spot a celebrity and now has a newer offshoot restaurant in the Addison area. Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House has grown to restaurants in Plano, Dallas and Fort WorthFive Sixty is the restaurant atop Reunion Tower, the iconic Dallas lookout spot. Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is a Houston original with a well-liked dining room in Dallas. And Sixty Vines in Plano is an American restaurant with a wall full of wine taps; it's popular among Collin County diners and now has a Dallas restaurant, too.

Interestingly, none of the Dallas-area restaurants on OpenTable's list overlapped with Wine Enthusiast magazine's recent list of America's 100 Best Wine Restaurants of 2018. (On that list, Bullion, Stephan Pyles Flora Street Cafe and The French Room were named.)

Pappa's Bros. and Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House, mentioned above, also have restaurants outside of North Texas.
