Memorial Day seems to be the most popular time for some people to drag out the barbecue grill, spending too much of the day cleaning it. Maybe you don't have to get your hands dirty this year.

There will be a Pop-Up Barbecue on Saturday, May 26, starting at 11 a.m. at White Rock Lake. The food, from One90 Smoked Meats, will be free. And so will the sides such as potato salad (no raisins, please) and green beans.

The event is first-come, first-served, so you don't want to be on the wrong side of the afternoon.

Memorial Day weekend calls for marches, a trip to Westeros and Justin Timberlake in D-FW

The smell could cause a long line from people already at the lake to celebrate Memorial Day and get some relief from the hot temps; go to the White Rock Lake Stone Tables & Pavilion, 553-683 E. Lawther Drive, Dallas, to feast. The pop-up is scheduled to end at 3 p.m.

The event is part of North Texas Honda Dealers campaign "Random Acts of Helpfulness." "The Helpful Honda People" take requests on how they can help out around the area on their Facebook page.

The event also kicks off the group's plan to give out free tanks of gas, starting Memorial Day weekend all the way through July 4.

The best part about all of this (besides free): There are "no strings attached."
