"West Dallas is beginning to look a lot like Austin," my colleague Tiney Ricciardi wrote in August 2016 about Sylvan Thirty, the development at the corner of Sylvan Avenue and I-30 in Dallas.

That has became even more true.

West Dallas is beginning to look a lot like Austin

Now, Sylvan Thirty is home to a crepe shop (Whisk Crepes Cafe); ramen shop (Ten); Italian market (CiboDivino); juice place (JuiceLand); ice cream shop (Betty Ringer); cocktail bar (Jettison); Texas taco shop (Tacodeli) and coffee shop (Houndstooth).

Today marks the opening of one more eatery: Cooper's Meat Market, a butcher shop that will soon have a steakhouse inside.

Cooper's is a family business from San Antonio that's been open for more than 20 years, a press release says. Michael Johnson is expanding his family business to Dallas, in part because he is an Oak Cliff resident.

"I'm excited to be part of the great things happening in this whole area," he said in a statement.

The meat market sells beef, poultry, fish and prepared foods. If you're a Yeti cooler fanatic, the shop also has a wide variety of Yeti products for sale. And there's beer and wine, too.

The steakhouse inside of Cooper's is expected to open April 30.

Cooper's Meat Market is located at 778 Fort Worth Ave., Suite G150, Dallas.
