Dallas has seen a healthy uptick of good Italian food in the past several years, most notably with restaurants such as Lucia in Oak Cliff, Sprezza near Oak Lawn Avenue and Dolce Rivieria in the Harwood District. Now, Frisco's getting some of the goods.
A new restaurant that describes itself as "Italian fine dining" is open now in Frisco's all-star restaurant development, The Star. Da Mario serves Italian dishes such as Neapolitan pizzas; pastas like fettuccini with black truffles and vodka sauce; and an Italian wine list.
"Da Mario will bring Italy to the front steps of Frisco and beyond," says corporate executive chef Mert Seran in a statement.
The team behind Da Mario picked Frisco as its first-in-the-U.S. restaurant.
Da Mario restaurants also exist in London and Istanbul.
The Frisco restaurant has mid-century modern decor and will put its meat, cheese and wine on display. See the menu below.
Located at 6655 Winning Drive, Frisco. Serves dinner only until March 10, when lunch service will be added, starting at 11 a.m.
