Bad luck: McDonald's Shamrock Shake is skipping Texas this year

It's the season of St. Patrick's Day. For some, that means green beer. For others, it means it's time to grab a Shamrock Shake from McDonald's. But bad news, Texans: The chocolate mint shake is skipping Texas this year.

Yes, the entire state. As in years past, the Shamrock Shake is available only in select locations, but that often means something like, "You can get it at the McDonald's by work, but not the one closest to your house." This year, there is not a single location in the Lone Star State that will be supplying mint addicts with their liquid gold.

Why, McDonald's? Is it because we made fun of your frork and your straw (sorry, "STRAW")? Is this punishment for complaining that you want to make our children to eat burgers without cheese?

"It's just not a product that we have a high demand for in Texas," McDonald's representative Chris Stanley tells us. Unlike some other limited time products from McDonald's, such as the McRib, Texans supposedly just don't show up for the Shamrock Shake.

We aren't the only place that's been shafted. The Wichita Eagle recently wrote that while the shake can be found in Kansas, it's unavailable in Wichita.

The true shake addicts among us could make a road trip to Arkansas or Oklahoma. In places where it's available, it should be around until March 17.
