Doughnut shop with a funky, familiar name – and beer – to open in Fort Worth

FunkyTown Donuts & Drafts, a family-owned shop that sells a colorful combination of doughnuts paired with beer, is expected to open its second Fort Worth shop in May.

It'll be Fort Worth's second FunkyTown Donuts & Drafts; the first is located in the Hospital District. FunkyTown No. 2 will be located at 132 E. Fourth St., in Fort Worth's Sundance Square.

It'll be a teeny place, just over 1,200 square feet, that will serve glazed doughnuts of all kinds and sizes. (Including mini doughnuts. Cute.) There's The Chipper, a chocolate glazed doughnut topped with potato chips, that sounds delicious; so does the Bramble Berry: a blackberry-lemonade glazed doughnut topped with blackberries and lemon zest.

Gluten-free and vegan doughnuts will be for sale on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The focus at FunkyTown is on the doughnuts, but it will also pair beers with sweet and savory doughnuts for special events. The shop will also sell cold-brew coffee on tap.

Expected to open in May at 132 E. Fourth St., Fort Worth.
