Taco Bell is giving us $1 Nacho Fries, so 2018 is business as usual for fast food

Taco Bell, the fast food giant that giveth and then taketh away the Naked Chicken Chalupa (along with a bunch of other food experiments) has introduced its latest play for your cheap junk food cravings: Nacho Fries. I hope you didn't think fast food chains would press pause on new concepts to kick off the new year.

The menu item is pretty self-explanatory: Nacho Fries are seasoned french fries with a side of nacho cheese. Pretty simple, which probably isn't a surprise given its modest $1 price tag. We hope that $1 will provide a lot of cheesy goodness. How bad can you screw up cheese, right? (Oh, wait. Chipotle queso happened, didn't it?) If they are good, you can upgrade them to a Supreme or Bell Grande size for $2.49 or $3.49, respectively.

Just don't order the fries expecting to eat them with ketchup instead of cheese. A spokesperson told Thrillist, simply, "Taco Bell doesn't need ketchup," and they won't be providing it. So there.

Nacho Fries will be available in Taco Bell restaurants nationwide starting Jan. 25. They are the first of more than 20 items the chain plans to add to their dollar menu.
