Editor's note on Feb. 20, 2018: This story has been updated throughout.
There's no plan to test Tacodeli in Plano. Owners Eric Wilkerson and Roberto Espinosa are coming in hot, with to open two Tacodelis expected to open in Plano in 2018. (It's a shop so nice, they signed it twice?)
The Austin-born shop -- an up-and-coming favorite among many Texans -- opened its first Dallas-area shop in 2015 to much fanfare. The second opened in winter 2018 at the northeast corner of Walnut Hill and Central Expressway.
The Plano restaurants will be located near Highway 121 and Parkwood Boulevard (east of the intersection of 121 and the Dallas North Tollway, near the Container Store); and at Park Boulevard and Preston Road (near the Whole Foods).
That first Plano restaurant, at 121 and Parkwood Boulevard, opens Feb. 22. The second Plano shop is expected to open in the second quarter of 2018.
Tacodeli sells simple tacos filled with any combination of meat, vegetables and cheese. Don't miss the impossibly spicy green sauce, one of many dress-your-own taco-topping options made in-house. The restaurant also makes its own dairy-free horchata. Any taco can be served on a gluten-free corn tortilla.
We'll leave you with this: Tacodeli is BYOB.
The Plano Tacodeli shops will be located at 8442 Parkwood Blvd. and 2401 Preston Road.
