Dallas barflies lost a happy hour stalwart in January when Vickery Park on Henderson Avenue closed, but a new concept has already opened in its place.

Stellar is a restaurant and bar that specializes in American cuisine and cocktails from Miranda Management Hospitality Group, which also owns Trophy Ranch in Fort Worth and the Trophy Room in Dallas. It opened April 28.

Longtime fans of Vickery Park may hardly recognize the space. Gone is the dark, dive bar feel and in its place is a bright, modern ambiance with mid-century modern furnishings illuminated by natural light that comes through the windows. The formerly enclosed patio, too, has been opened up to become a breezy space that feels part of the bustling Henderson Avenue.

Get a feel for Stellar:

What's on the menu, you ask? Aforementioned American dishes include duck wings, mussels, bison meatloaf and a chopped brisket sandwich. Other meals have international influences, such as the blackened fish tacos, hoisin-ginger fillet kabob and the Texas poutine, a spin on the Canadian comfort food that features brisket, truffle fries and southwest cheese.

Check out the eats:

P.S. The cocktails look delicious, too.

Stellar is located at 2810 Henderson Ave. in Dallas. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
