Campisi's launches limited-time-only pizzas in Dallas-Fort Worth and Lubbock

The Campisi family has been in the pizza business in Dallas for more than 65 years. They have family arguments over what should go on their pizzas -- so, naturally, they don't often ask outsiders what they should put on their menu.

But in early 2017, David Campisi and his crew launched a contest to see who could come up with the best pizza recipe. About 250 people sent in their ideas, and our very own GuideLive team was tasked with picking the winning pizza.

Available March 1-31, Campisi's will sell a limited-time-only pie called the Mystic Meatball Pizza.

Looks can be deceiving on this pie stacked with mounds of sliced meatballs. The pizza is in fact fairly light, thanks to the generous helping of vegetables on top.

The Mystic Meatball is topped with tomato sauce, sliced meatballs, purple onion, black olives, tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil and provolone cheese. Those sliced meatballs are the same ones that come in Campisi's bowls of spaghetti and on their meatball sandwiches.

The Mystic Meatball will cost $15.25-$20.95 depending on size and is available at all Campisi's -- 10 in Dallas-Fort Worth and one in Lubbock.

The person who created the Mystic Meatball, Dallas resident Nancy Carroll, will receive $500 in Campisi's gift cards. That's a lot of pizza!
