When you think of popular food neighborhoods in Dallas, your delicious list probably includes Preston Center, Trinity Groves, corners of Deep Ellum, maybe the nook near Klyde Warren Park.

Add Lovers Lane and Inwood Road to that list, as it's already home to a Trader Joe's, Neighborhood Services, Mesero, Campisi's, Fireside Pies and more. Two new restaurants are expected to open soon at the same intersection.

Flower Child

Flower Child is a "healthy, happy, fast-casual restaurant," says a statement. Happy: We don't often see restaurants use such moody words.

The new restaurant, slated to open at Lovers Lane and Inwood Road in Dallas March 14, comes from the company behind True Food Kitchen in Preston Center. Some of the same sensibilities are there: Flower Child, like True Food, fixates on good-for-you grub. But this new place has a bohemian feel.

At Flower Child, there's a designated area where people can set their yoga mats while they wait for food.

That helps you "get" this place, doesn't it?

Its menu will include organic, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan items, says a press release. There's already a Flower Child in Austin, because of course there is.

Lovers Seafood comes from Tracy Rathbun and Lynae Fearing, the restaurateurs who also jointly operate sushi restaurant Shinsei around the corner. Executive Chef Aaron Staudenmaier (formerly of Abacus) plans a menu of clam chowder, Thai-style mussels and clams, Cajun-fried oysters and the like. They also promise a burger and a lobster roll.

The "boardwalk-inspired patio," says a statement, might just trick diners into thinking the ocean is nearby.

"This is our neighborhood," the owners are quoted as saying, "and when the opportunity presented itself, we knew we had to jump on it."

5200 W. Lovers Lane, Dallas. Opened in early March.
